This project is a cross-state collaboration to determine the current state of social studies in the K-12 curriculum. Based on a number of individual state-level survey research, this project seeks to gather survey data from representative samples of social studies teachers (K-12) in order to provide a data-drive overview of who is teaching social studies, how they are teaching social studies, the reasons they feel social studies is an important content area, and how high-stakes test in reading and math have impacted the field.
The goal of the SoSS Blog is provide the resaerchers engaged in this project a central location to share issues, address problems, and to provide updates concerning data collection, IRB issues, etc.
Feel free to post questions, comments, sugegstions, etc. concerning the project and solicit input from other researchers.
